Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Duncan, BC location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure salon cleanliness. Identify and address pet health issues promptly, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Passion for pets and excellent customer service essential.
