Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in East York, Ontario, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with pet emergencies or other store duties as needed.

Daily Operations

• Handle client communications in-person, phone, and at register
• Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for sick pets
• Follow all company policies for safety and productivity

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and reaching. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
