Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level position in Edmond, OK, builds foundational skills while contributing to store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, ensure humane pet conditions, and promote sales to meet targets. Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in computers required. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment with flexible scheduling.
