Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver top-tier salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to mastering industry-leading grooming techniques while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales, recommend wellness solutions, ensure salon cleanliness, and respond to pet health needs. Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, stoop, and handle pets safely.

Responsibilities

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and client records
