Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our expert Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Share in store cleanliness and sales goals in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, execute full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Build safe technical skills exceeding company expectations.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and drive salon sales.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and respond to pet health issues promptly.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek passionate individuals with strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and depth perception.
