Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Located in Epping, New Hampshire, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Develop safe technical skills and recommend wellness solutions based on pet needs.
• Handle pet parent experiences: greet, answer questions, manage reservations, check-in/out, and maintain records.
• Promote salon sales, merchandise, and services to meet targets.
• Ensure salon cleanliness, pet safety, and immediate action for sick/injured pets; assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
