Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service in our Everett, WA location.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales, recommend wellness solutions, ensure salon sanitation, and assist with sick/injured pets. Flexibility to support other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication, and composure under pressure. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays required. Computer proficiency essential.

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and rebooking

- Promote salon sales, merchandise, and services to meet targets
- Conduct appointment reminders and maintain client records
- Assist in other store departments and follow all company policies
