Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. Located in Fairfield, California, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend solutions, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and promote sales. Maintain salon cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist other departments as needed. Follow all policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and proficiency in computers. Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled setting required.
