Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls while recommending wellness solutions.
• Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
• Drive salon sales through merchandise recommendations and service promotions to hit targets.
• Assist in other departments, follow policies, and participate in our culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
