Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Florence, South Carolina, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Promote salon sales and merchandise to achieve targets. Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist other departments as needed.
Daily Operations
- Handle pet parent experiences in-person, phone, and at register.
- Perform maintenance and end-of-day cleaning per checklists.
- Participate in sales growth and productivity metrics.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include safe technical grooming, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, strong communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate to high noise levels.
