Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide top-tier salon services under supervision while upholding our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional customer experiences. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Engage pet parents with personalized recommendations for health and wellness products.
- Handle salon operations: greetings, reservations, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and rebooking.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Drive sales through merchandise promotion and salon growth initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required – you'll ace our technical exam if needed. Key traits include PetSmart Salon Academy completion, computer skills, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends/holidays), organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment.
