Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe technical skills in grooming while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive outcomes. You'll contribute to store cleanliness, pet safety, and salon sales in Folsom, California.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-ins/check-outs. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and maintain salon sanitation. Identify and address sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ pounds, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment.
