Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll work under supervision of expert stylists, mastering bath, brush, and full grooming services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. This position supports store cleanliness, sales goals, and our commitment to humane pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver supervised grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, perform daily cleaning, and respond to pet health issues.
• Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and merchandise upselling.
• Collaborate across departments and uphold PetSmart’s values of Belonging and Recognition.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart Academy training. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled setting. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
