Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations.
- Handle pet parent consultations, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and reminder calls.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and report sick/injured pets immediately.
- Drive sales by recommending services and merchandise.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
