Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Fort Worth, Texas, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with pet health issues by coordinating vet transport if needed. Flexibility to support other store areas is essential.
Daily Operations
- Handle client communications via phone, in-person, and register.
- Ensure humane conditions and immediate action on sick/injured pets.
- Follow maintenance checklists for end-of-day cleaning.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must stand, lift 50+ lbs, work in wet/hairy environments, and be available evenings/weekends/holidays. Passion for pets and customer service is key.

- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in pet hair environment (experience)
