Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services to hit targets. Ensure salon sanitation, identify sick pets for vet transport, and assist other departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/hairy conditions with moderate to high noise. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays required.
