Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Glen Burnie, Maryland location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging with pet parents and ensuring positive experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll uphold our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with sick/injured pets or other departments. Follow all policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Need strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Proficiency in computers required; physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, stoop, and work in a pet hair-filled, noisy salon.
