Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to meet targets, and maintain salon cleanliness. Ensure pet safety by identifying issues and assisting with vet transport if needed. Follow all company policies and assist other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Proficiency in computer applications, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise levels.
