Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Glendora, California, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers flexibility, development, and a pathway to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales of merchandise and services, ensure salon cleanliness, and respond to pet health emergencies. Assist other departments as needed and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
