Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Goodyear, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend solutions, manage appointments, maintain client records, and drive salon sales. Uphold cleanliness and humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist across store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle physical demands (experience)
Responsibilities
- Perform supervised bathing, brushing, grooming, nail trims, and sanitary services
- Recommend health and wellness solutions to pet parents
- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards
- Promote salon sales, merchandise, and services to meet targets
