Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a rewarding career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
• Upsell merchandise and services to meet sales targets while prioritizing pet needs.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
• Assist other departments and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required – complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
