Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Grand Island, Nebraska, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a career in pet care.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, maintain client records, and drive salon sales. Uphold cleanliness, report sick pets, and assist other departments as needed while following all policies.

Daily Operations

• Greet clients, handle check-in/out, and conduct reminder calls.
• Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for pet health issues.
• Promote merchandise to achieve sales targets.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must handle physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays essential.
