Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this position offers a dynamic path to a rewarding career in pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Develop and demonstrate safe technical skills exceeding company expectations.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, including end-of-day maintenance.
- Monitor pet health, respond to emergencies, and assist across store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates exhibit strong communication, organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical capability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure are essential.
