Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Green Valley, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers starting their grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Build safe technical skills exceeding company expectations.
- Consult with pet parents on needs, recommend wellness solutions, and drive salon sales.
- Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and reminder calls.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane pet conditions; respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek flexible candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, physical environments (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, wet/hairy conditions). Computer proficiency and composure under pressure required.
