Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Ideal for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a rewarding career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full menu of supervised bath, brush, grooming, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; handle sick/injured pets.
• Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, bending). Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Proficiency in computer applications required.
