Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our expert Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales, recommend wellness solutions, uphold salon cleanliness, and assist with pet emergencies. Flexibility to support other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply); must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and handling pets. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays essential.

Responsibilities
