Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Build safe technical skills and recommend wellness solutions based on pet needs.
- Manage appointments, check-ins/outs, client records, and sales promotions to drive salon metrics.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, with end-of-day maintenance.
- Respond to pet health issues and assist across departments as required.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, and composure under pressure. Computer proficiency required.
