Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role is your entry into professional pet grooming. After completing PetSmart's Grooming Academy, you'll work under supervision from expert stylists, mastering safe techniques for baths, brushes, nail trims, and full grooming services. This position emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, salon hygiene, and driving salon sales while upholding PetSmart's values.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver supervised grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and ensure positive experiences.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily maintenance, and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Promote services and merchandise to achieve sales targets and build client loyalty.
• Assist across store departments, follow policies, and participate in our culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience is preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. You'll need strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, along with computer proficiency.
