Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Hiram, Georgia, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Obtained after completing academy training, it's perfect for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, reminder calls, and client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise to drive salon sales and metrics.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, perform daily/end-of-day maintenance, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Identify and respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), computer proficiency, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair exposure.
