Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Hot Springs, Arkansas, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with store operations while ensuring pet safety.
Daily Tasks Include:
- Client consultations and reservation management
- Salon maintenance and end-of-day cleaning
- Merchandise upselling and sales growth
- Immediate action for sick/injured pets
Experience & Skills
PetSmart prioritizes trainable talent. Prior grooming experience is preferred with a possible technical exam. Successful completion of our Salon Academy is required. Key skills: safe pet handling, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, strong communication, physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs), and schedule flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Computer proficiency essential.
