Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Ideal for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote salon sales, recommend wellness solutions, ensure salon cleanliness, and assist with pet safety protocols. Flexibility to support other store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification required. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/noisy environments with pet hair. Proficient in computers; flexible schedule essential.

Responsibilities

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and client records
