Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Huber Heights, Ohio location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role focuses on learning industry-best grooming techniques while delivering positive experiences for pets and their parents. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, this position builds foundational skills in salon services, pet safety, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote salon sales, recommend wellness solutions, and uphold cleanliness standards. Ensure pet safety by monitoring health and assisting with vet transports if needed. Follow all company policies while contributing to store operations.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and strong communication. Be physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential, along with organizational prowess and computer proficiency.

- Manage salon check-in/out, reservations, and client records
- Maintain salon cleanliness and pet safety protocols
