Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Idaho Falls, Idaho location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, it's perfect for passionate animal lovers ready to build a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Uphold salon cleanliness, pet safety, and sales targets. Assist other departments as needed and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational abilities, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/noisy environments with pet hair. Flexible schedule required including evenings, weekends, holidays.
