Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe technical grooming skills while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive outcomes. You'll contribute to store cleanliness, pet safety, and salon sales growth in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, deliver full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote merchandise, and drive salon sales to meet targets.
• Uphold highest cleanliness and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance and end-of-day cleaning.
• Monitor pet health, take action on sick/injured pets, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise and wet conditions.
