Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Kennewick, Washington, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's Professional Styling teams through our Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services under supervision. Uphold company values, ensure pet safety, and contribute to store cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions and promote salon sales.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client records.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Assist with sick/injured pets, work other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Need strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a wet, noisy environment with pet hair. Flexible schedule required for evenings, weekends, holidays.
