Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Kingman, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while learning industry-leading grooming techniques. This entry-level role emphasizes pet safety, customer satisfaction, and store cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-ins/check-outs. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales, and maintain salon sanitation. Assist with sick/injured pets and support other departments as needed. Uphold company policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete a technical exam if applicable. Must finish PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure required. Flexible schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet hair-filled, noisy environment with depth perception needs.
