Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart’s experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the Grooming Academy, you’ll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in our Kingston, Ontario location.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, merchandise, and services to boost sales and pet health.
• Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; handle sick/injured pets immediately.
• Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and depth perception.
