As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Lakewood, Washington, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales. Maintain impeccable cleanliness, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Uphold company values, policies, and safety protocols daily.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, and composure under pressure are essential. Must handle physical demands including lifting 50+ pounds, standing for shifts, and working in a pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
