Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Leduc, Alberta location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging with pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Successful completion of PetSmart’s Grooming Academy is required to advance.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and make reminder calls. Maintain salon cleanliness, recommend wellness solutions, promote sales, and ensure pet safety. Assist other departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds (team lift over 100), stoop, kneel, and use ladders. Work in a fast-paced environment with evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Passion for pets and flexibility required.
