Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Leesburg, Florida location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role, obtained after completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with sick/injured pets or other departments as needed. Ensure humane conditions and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, wet environment with moderate to high noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required; composure under pressure essential.

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, and rebooking
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards
