Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver top-tier salon services, and ensure pet safety while contributing to store cleanliness and sales goals. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to build a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales.
• Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues.
• Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and working in a pet hair-filled environment.
