Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Logan, Utah store, you'll receive hands-on training from industry-leading Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring pet safety, customer satisfaction, and salon excellence. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, maintain client records, and promote services to boost salon sales. Uphold cleanliness standards, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Follow all company policies for humane, safe pet care.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification required. Demonstrate composure under pressure, strong communication, organizational skills, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays essential. Computer proficiency for records and reservations.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and handle pets in a wet, noisy salon with moderate to high noise levels and pet hair exposure.
