Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Lynnwood, WA location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Successful completion of PetSmart’s Grooming Academy is required to advance.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and ensure pet safety—responding immediately to any sick or injured pets.

Daily Operations

• Handle client records, reminder calls, and rebooking.
• Uphold company policies and assist other departments as needed.
• Work in a dynamic environment with moderate to high noise levels and pet hair exposure.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling under pressure, strong communication, organizational prowess, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and navigate ladders/wet areas. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
