Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services under supervision, build technical skills, and ensure positive pet parent experiences while upholding our vision of pet safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions, performing daily maintenance and end-of-day checklists.
- Handle check-ins/outs, client records, reminder calls, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
- Assist other departments and participate in our Belonging and Recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment.

- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods (experience)
Responsibilities
