Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational grooming skills while ensuring positive pet parent experiences, store cleanliness, and pet safety. Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, client records, and reminder calls.
- Recommend wellness solutions, merchandise, and services to boost salon sales and meet targets.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; perform daily maintenance.
- Ensure pet safety, respond to health issues, and assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart prioritizes trainable talent. Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete Salon Academy training and safety certification. Seek strong communicators with organizational skills, composure under pressure, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)
Responsibilities
