Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Build technical skills in a safe, supervised environment.
- Engage pet parents with personalized recommendations and exceptional service.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and client records.
- Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and report pet health issues promptly.
- Drive sales through merchandise upsells and promotions.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and working in a pet-filled environment.
