Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Marlton, New Jersey, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like bathing, brushing, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and make reminder calls. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, maintain salon cleanliness, and ensure humane conditions. Take action on sick/injured pets and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, wet environment with moderate to high noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
