Role Overview
The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a rewarding career in pet grooming.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales, recommend wellness solutions, uphold cleanliness standards, and assist with sick/injured pets. Contribute to store operations and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion required; prior grooming experience preferred with technical exam. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Flexible schedule for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physically demanding: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, work in wet/noisy environments with pet hair.

- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety protocols
- Promote salon services and merchandise to meet sales targets
