Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. Ideal for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a rewarding career in pet grooming.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness per checklists, promote sales to hit targets, and assist across departments as needed. Ensure humane conditions and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling under pressure, strong communication, organizational prowess, computer proficiency, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-hair-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

- Assist other departments and follow all company policies
