Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. Located in Mesa, Arizona, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments via phone and in-person, maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, and promote sales to achieve targets. Ensure humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist across store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational prowess. Proficiency in computers, physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, and flexibility for evenings/weekends required. Thrive in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate to high noise levels.
